The BEARING Team consists of a multi-disciplinary group of outdoor activity specialists, including professional sailors, skiers and special forces.

History

Our company dates back to 2004, but the BEARING name was introduced in 2010 when we expanded our nautical performance wear collection with skiwear and mountain wear. We have chosen the BEARING name because of its many meanings which perfectly match our fields of expertise.

Definition of the word BEARING

A ‘bearing’ is a term meaning a heading, or an actual compass direction. It also means to carry or to ‘to be equipped with’. Our slogan is ‘Get your BEARINGs’ which roughly translates as ‘set your course’ (and go ahead). This is really what we are about. We want you to enjoy your outdoor activities at a maximum level and to increase your performance by providing the best outdoor apparel on the market. In other words, if you have got your BEARINGs straight, you do not need to worry about performing in the most diverse circumstances.

We apply a ‘blank canvas’ approach towards the innovation of our products.
