Blue Sign is a unique holistic approach towards improving the environmental impact in the entire chain of textiles production. Our Swiss based technology partner Schoeller Textiles was the first manufacturer of performance fabric to meet the strict Blue Sign requirements. The BEARING concept of solely selling products on line fits perfectly within the Blue Sign philosophy. The entire production of the Ocean Wear hard shell products, for example, takes place in the Europe. The fabric is produced in Switzerland and the garments are manufactured in Hungary. This saves thousands of kilometers in transportation compared to Far East production. In our on line business we do not need a sales force visiting shops 3 times a year around Europe. Naturally the impact on the environment with our online model is much less than with the traveling sales force. It is our mission to continue working on reducing footprints and with our Blue Sign partner we have taken a big step.
